Generous Donation form IGA Dungog

Dungog Arts Society was thrilled to be the recipient of a cheque for $798 from Lovey's IGA as part of their Community Chest program.

Our society is grateful for the support of IGA. As a member of a close community, we can only exist with the support of local businesses.

Lovey's IGA generous donation will add to the prizemoney bank for our Annual Art Exhibition in October  2021.

Again, thank you James and your crew.

A Report on the Workshop from participant Donna Woodlands

Thankyou Leigh for leading such an informative workshop. Over the 2 days we learned such a lot both from your instruction and practical help. Everything ran smoothly and we were kept very busy due to your detailed and professional preparation, and we can continue to practice with the help of your prepared booklet. The 8 of us ended the weekend very tired , but well satisfied with the work we had done. You have inspired us by opening up the possibilities of further development of our skills in the future with you.

It is with great sadness that we must report the sudden passing of Mark Reedman on Tuesday 2nd February.

Mark was the Regional Arts Development Officer and Executive Director of Arts Upper Hunter.

Mark worked tirelessly to promote art in the region and was instrumental in our Society receiving a $5000 grant to conduct artistic workshops.

He will be sorely missed

29 May – Cynthia Denning – Using Spirit Medium with Pastels

To be held at the Dungog Hospital Day Care Centre

Hospital Rd, Dungog

10am til 2pm

Cost $20

All materials will be provided

Co-facilitator Donna Woodlands has furnished this report for the very successful workshop.

This workshop was led by Wendy Graham, assisted by Jan Samson and  Donna Woodlands

It was wonderfully enabled by Wendy’s granddaughter, Annie, who has a background in dance.

She was very patient, generous and strong in her poses and was a lovely  subject for us to draw. Thankyou so much Annie.

12 people managed to find spaces around the room, though a couple had challenging back views . Apologies for that.

Thanks Toby for arranging the venue with air conditioning. We needed it, and it is a great space to use.

The feedback from everyone I spoke to was that they had thoroughly enjoyed themselves and requested more of the same. Something we intend to arrange in the future.

We have been fortunate to receive a grant from Arts Upper Hunter of $1000 to upgrade the lights in our gallery to LED which are cheaper to run and more environmentally friendly.

The total cost of the upgrade is $1415, so generous members have embraced the "Sponsor a Light" scheme where they contributed to the shortfall, by "adopting" one of the 18 lights in the gallery for $20

Here is a list of the contributors so far
