THE DUNGOG ARCHIES 2020
Saturday 5th September to Friday 18th September 2020
The Dungog Arts Society was ready to present the keenly awaited Dungog Archies on 27th March 2020, when the COVID-19 virus struck, forcing us to close our gallery and postpone the opening .
In previous years, we have held the exhibition in a hall, to accommodate the large crowds who attend this well loved Dungog institution.
Of course, in 2020 this is no longer possible.
But our artists have submitted their works, the sponsors have provided the prizemoney, the judge is ready to cast his eye over the entries, so we have foregone the opening and restricted viewing of the Dungog Archies to our gallery at 266 Dowling St.
The exhibition will run from Saturday 5th September to Friday 18th September, giving art lovers plenty of opportunities to view the works in a COVID-Safe environment.
We look forward to seeing you then

A Thank You from Youth 13-18yo winner, Isa Taylor
Art has the ability to transform and when an artist puts paint to canvas, it can represent a very personal story. Isa Taylor expressed her gratitude for her win and told the story behind her impressive winning entry.
"I did the portrait of my grandad to honour his life and as a gift to my nana and dad. I used acrylics and wanted to use a lot of colour (blues, purples etc) to make the work stand out more. I’m very honoured to win this award in grandads hometown".
